Five indoor commands / Sit
Teach an excitable dog to sit indoors — without shouting
The guide builds a sit that starts with attention, then holds through meals, greetings, and doorways — short indoor sessions, no chasing.
Sit works in a quiet room and falls apart the moment food appears, a visitor walks in, or you reach for the door. Repeating the word louder does not fix that.

What you practise
- Get eye contact before you ask for the sit.
- Hold the sit while you set a bowl down, then release.
- Use sit as the start of greetings so jumping never gets practised.
- Add doorway pressure only after the kitchen sit is reliable.
Sit is taught in weeks 3–4, then pressure-tested in weeks 5–6 around meals and visitors.
Add Sit to a six-week sequence
The ebook covers sit, come, stay, lie down, and leave together — because one command does not hold if the others collapse.
