You build a sit and stay at the threshold, then leave on the open gap, without turning every exit into a race.
The door opens and they are gone — into the hall, the street, or whoever is standing there. Chasing them teaches the dash.
What you practise
- Sit at a closed door until that is boring.
- Open one inch, wait, close, pay. Do not flood them with the whole street.
- Use leave on the gap if they lean through.
- Only add a real exit after the threshold sit is reliable.
